Built in 1970 and originally occupied by the Auckland International Seafarers Centre Inc., the Seafarers Building at 104 Quay Street is a characteristic building in the context of Auckland City’s harbour edge and the Britomart Precinct.
The design consists of two new structures on the existing north and south terraces of the buildings second level, housing brasserie and bar Ostro, each side capturing a unique outlook – the Harbour Terrace (above Quay St.) to Stanley Bay and the wider Waitemata harbour and the City Terrace (above Tyler St) over Britomart and the city beyond.
