Forest House
Set at the foot of Auckland’s Waitakere Ranges is a collection of timber clad structures. The owners sought a home that enabled family to be part of the farm, embraced their love of working with timber and provided many spaces for entertaining and accommodating groups of guests and friends.
Exterior screens of native timber boards and shingle roof are assembled over cast in-situ concrete masses.
Project Details: The internal floor area is approximately 600m2 and construction was completed in early 2016. Fearon Hay’s project team was led by Stephen de Vrij with Michael Huh. Tim Hay and Jeff Fearon are the design architects. Photography is by Simon Wilson with Amelia Holmes.
