Shingle Roof House

This home draws inspiration from its surroundings, referencing the vernacular arts and crafts roof of its neighbours. Shuttered apertures have been added to provide outlook and privacy for the bedrooms. The building brings together copper, timber shingle, plastered walls and oiled timber wide-plank floors.

Project Details: Internal floor area is 380m2. Construction completed in mid 2015. Fearon Hay’s project team was led by Doug Weir with Rachel Higgs. Tim Hay and Jeff Fearon are the design architects. Interiors are a collaboration with Penny Hay Design Photography is by Simon Wilson with styling by Amelia Holmes.
